Crappie In Coconut Milk

I have been living here in the US for almost ten years now but have still not gotten use to eating all of the American foods yet. My stomach still prefers to have Filipino food most of the time.

We caught this crappie from our nearby lake last summer but I froze it to eat at a later date. This is the time of the year that I like to make recipes with soup. Ginataang crappie is very easy to prepare. Here are the ingredients that you need:

Ingredients

  • 1 whole crappie,sliced
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • spinach
  • 1/4 cup onions
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 hot chili pepper
Instructions
  1. Sauté the onions
  2. Add water. Bring to boil.
  3. Add fish. Simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Pour on the coconut milk and then simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Add the spinach and tomatoes, then simmer for a few more minutes.
Notes
Serve with rice.
